Party, Poets, Purgatory

Hullo all,

Our costume party for Halloween is this Thursday, November 2, at Bethany and Andrea's house; a map should be included in the next newsletter. Bring snacks if you like, and dress as a poet or literary figure. (The cliché-ists, perhaps, are unaware of what savvy college students know well: Thrift stores are the mother of invention.)

Our poets for the week after the party are Francesco Petrarch and John Milton.

Also, our Purgatorio reading is coming soon: It'll be on Saturday, November 4 in American Studies 108. Come and devour pizza and (more importantly) poetry. Mmm, Dante.

Welcome

Salutations, and welcome to the Souvenirs Poetry Club blog.

Our other website died, and we didn't have the initiative or the geek power to fix it, but this one should be easier to maintain. We'll try to keep it updated regularly with basic news for your information and occasionally with poetry mutterings for your amusement.

Our poets for this week are Paul Verlaine and Lewis Carroll. So check those out. It's ok to bring Verlaine in English. As for Lewis Carroll... just don't trip over any slithy toves. Ew.
